VV22 cable, fully known as copper-core polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulated steel tape armoured PVC sheathed power cable, is an armoured enhanced version of the VV series cables, mainly used in AC power transmission systems with rated voltages of 0.6/1kV and below. Its structure includes a copper-core conductor, PVC insulation layer, double-layer galvanized steel tape armouring, and a PVC outer sheath. The steel tape armouring significantly enhances mechanical protection, resisting external impacts, rodent damage, and providing electromagnetic shielding, making it suitable for automated control systems and other scenarios requiring high signal stability. The cable has a long-term operating temperature ≤70°C, a conductor temperature ≤160°C during short circuits (≤5 seconds), a laying temperature ≥0°C, and a fixed laying environmental temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. The sheath material is moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant, suitable for direct burial in soil, humid, or lightly polluted environments.
The steel tape armouring design of VV22 cables enables them to withstand mechanical pressure in directly buried soil or cable trenches, widely used in scenarios prone to external damage such as construction sites and road undersides. It also has derivatives including flame-retardant type (ZR-VV22) for personnel-dense places like shopping malls and hospitals, and fire-resistant type (NH-VV22) for fire-protection needs in critical facilities such as subways and airports. Compared with ordinary VV cables, VV22 has higher mechanical strength and a larger bending radius (approximately 12D~15D), but its cost increases due to steel tape and processing technology, making it more suitable for complex environments such as direct burial and outdoor applications.
This product complies with the GB/T 12706.1-2020 standard, which imposes strict requirements on armouring layer thickness, sheath performance, etc. Some models meet the RoHS environmental directive to reduce harmful substance emissions. When selecting, ensure reliable grounding of the armouring layer to avoid induced currents, and reserve sufficient bending space to prevent damage to the armouring. It is preferably used in medium-low voltage power transmission systems requiring external protection and fire resistance.
